Black Caviar Is 2011 Moir Stakes Winner

October 22nd, 2011

Peter Moody‘s Black Caviar has posted her 15th unbeaten horse racing victory in the Group 2 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley racecourse today October 22, 2011.

The superstar mare won the 2011 Moir Stakes, which is now known as the Schweppes Stakes, ahead of Doubtful Jack, who finished second, and Here De Angels, who placed third.

Black Caviar was paying odds of $1.04 at Luxbet to win the 2011 Moir Stakes, making her the shortest priced favourite in an Australian feature race in 50 years.

The five-year-old will now head towards the Group 1 Patinack Farm Classic on Emirates Stakes Day before likely travelling to Perth for the 2011 Winterbottom Stakes on November 19, 2011.

Jockey Luke Nolen was emotional after the Moir Stakes was run.

“It’s a little bit overwhelming… it’s Cox Plate Day,” Nolen said.

“To find this one it’s extra special.

“I know the ride won’t last forever but I’m enjoying it while it lasts.

“I’m just the lucky bloke on top because she landed in our stable.”
