Warren Confident Bel Sprinter Will Salute In 2013 Moir Stakes

September 26th, 2013

Trainer Jason Warren is confident that Bel Sprinter is capable of winning the Group 1 Moir Stakes first-up tomorrow night September 27, 2013.

The six-year-old will be having his first run since placing a strong second to Lucky Nine in the Group 1 Krisflyer International Sprintat Kranji Racecourse in Singapore in May this year.

Bel Sprinter has won seven of his 16 race starts and has earned more than $886,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

Warren is hopeful the six-year-old will be able to start his spring racing carnival on a high when he contests the 2013 Moir Stakes.

“He will improve on this run,” he said.

“He had two trials before he blew them away in The Galaxy and he is fresh again, although he has had only one trial.

“If there is a solid pace, as I expect, he should be running over the top of them.”

However, the trainer is wary of the strong competition in the field, which includes Buffering.

“Buffering has run second behind Black Caviar and Hay List at his best and is a solid performer at this level,’’ Warren said.

“Epaulette will be hard to beat. He beat us home (behind Black Caviar) in the T.J. Smith after we won The Galaxy.

“This will be a great race, for sure. But we are set and ready to have a red-hot go.”
