The four-year-old won the 2013 Moir Stakes by an incredible four lengths, ahead of a gallant Buffering, who placed second, and Le Bonsir, who rounded out the placings in third.

Samaready has now won six of her eight race starts and has earned more than $1.58 million in prize money during her horse racing career.

The More Than Ready mare has won both her spring racing starts and is nominated for the Group 1 Manikato Stakes and Patinack Farm Classic later in the carnival.

Trainer Mick Price was thrilled to see Samaready score her second Group 1 title in the 2013 Moir Stakes.

“We love the mare. We had to be patient with her,” Price said.

“She’s developed into a nice four-year-old and can carry more muscle and be a bit stronger.

“We’re really wrapped that she can race in this company and race properly. She ran away with it.”

While Buffering was once again beaten to the post in a Group 1 event, trainer Robert Heathcote revealed he was found to be lame after the race.

“My stable foreman Mel Leitch got Buffering out of his box this morning (Saturday) and found he was clearly lame,” Heathcote said.

“She got the vet who found he had a stone bruise on his near foreleg. Most often stone bruises are concussion injuries but he wasn’t due to start for another month and we will give him the normal treatment,” Heathcote said.

“I am not taking anything away from Samaready and we are not making excuses. But he was lame this morning and that is what it is,” Heathcote said.
