Ball Of Muscle has been a strong and consistent performer for Pride throughout his entire racing career so far; posting an impressive eight wins and nine minors through only nineteen competitive starts since his debut in late 2013.

Having failed to make much of an impression through two starts during the recent Sydney Autumn Carnival, Pride has been pleased with the benefit taken by the Dubawi gelding in his time away from racing and confirmed the 2016 Moir Stakes as a major target, ahead of a possible interstate trip to the Perth Summer Carnival.

“Ball Of Muscle comes back to the stable on Monday and he will go first-up into the Moir Stake,” Pride told AAP.

“We will also look at Perth and the Winterbottom with him.”

Ball Of Muscle was a strong and consistent performer through each of his first two racing preparations in failing to finish outside the first three, but undoubtedly kicked up a gear upon resuming during the 2014/15 summer; running second in the Listed Canterbury Stakes (1200m) and winning the Listed Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) in his first two black type appearances.

Resuming late in the 2015 autumn for second in the 3aw Community Raceday Handicap (1000m), Ball Of Muscle travelled north to finish second behind subsequent Group 1 champion Srikandi in the Group 2 Victory Stakes (1200m) before returning to winning form in the Group 2 QTC Cup (1200m).

Resuming in spring for third in the Group 3 Concorde Stakes (1000m), the gelding out of Parfore ran second in the Group 2 The Shorts (1100m) before finishing a close second to Buffering in the most recent edition of the Moir Stakes.

Returning to the paddock after placing third in the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint (1000m), Ball Of Muscle resumed this year for sixth in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m), and has not been seen at the races since placing eighth in the Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m) on March 19th.
